Daon McLarin Johnson
Daon McLarin Johnson, widely recognized as a “hope dealer” for his work with youth and community organizations, brings decades of leadership experience as an educator, mentor, and advocate. With a deep commitment to IBM’s mission—to inspire and challenge youth through mental, physical, and social activities—Johnson will ensure the organization remains steadfast in keeping youth at the center of all decisions.
“I Believe in Me exists because our community’s youth deserve hope, opportunities, and champions who will walk alongside them on their journey to success,” said Johnson. “As Interim Executive Director, I am honored to support this transition and to continue building a legacy of hope and empowerment alongside the incredible team of hope dealers at IBM.”

With roles spanning Regional Manager at MENTOR Maryland | DC, Adjunct Consultant for mentoring-focused organizations, and Dean of Students, Daon embodies a unique blend of strategic vision and community-focused action. His leadership has been instrumental in steering initiatives that amplify youth mentoring programs, foster innovative solutions, and drive systemic change. Adept at bridging diverse partnerships, he has effectively collaborated with schools, government officials, non-profits, and community organizations to build strong networks that bolster youth development and empower marginalized communities.
